Destination Earth ( A History Of Alleged Alien Presence ) By Alan Baker
Published By Cassell Plc

I mentioned in another review, that there are a wealth of UFO books on the market right now, this is yet another one and again addresses points relating to the alleged * alien * presence on our earth. Why are they here ? What do they want ? Have they always been here, or are they just a recent phenomena ? These points, and much more, are looked at in Alan's book, he asks, " Are aliens truly extraterrestrial, or do they represent something more fundamental ! Like some books that have been before, Alan traces the *alien* presence back through antiquity.

The more recent * Goatsucker * phenomena, that of some animals being found in mysterious circumstances in which their bodies have been found with horrendous scarring and are devoid of any blood, is looked at, and the possibility, that we are not dealing here with any normal predatory beasts, but possibly something new, something exotic, and possible something totally * alien *! Other animal mutilations are looked at as well, some from Scotland in which the village of Kinlocchewe had an outbreak of sheep deaths back in March 1991 proved most mysterious.

Sheep were found with small holes bored into their heads, and again they were devoid of any blood. Also, in the Orkney Isles, m ore than 30 seals were found on the beaches minus their heads! A spokesman for the Scottish RSPCA, stated that he had never seen anything like it. Their heads had appeared to have been surgically removed and were so clean cut, that the incisions had carefully penetrated between the vertebrate without damaging the bones. Clearly, something unusual is going on, but what !!!

One of the more appealing chapters to this reviewer, was the chapter which concerned the theories on the origin of * Intelligent non Humans *, in other words, the * aliens* themselves. Various hypotheses are looked at by the author from the Ultraterrestrial theory, to visitors from our own future. I did tend to find that this book tended to wander in bits, and was disjointed, but the pieces eventually all fitted together and the author's feelings on what might be going on, eventually surfaced.

There is a lot in this book which has been covered before, but as i've mentioned in other such reviews, there is this growing interest in matters pertaining to UFOs and the supernatural, and the continuation of books such as this, can only be to the betterment of this subject. An interesting and thought provoking book then, and one to interest young and old alike.
